Dennison Lubricants is increasing the square footage of its Worchester, Mass., facility by around 26 percent in a $4.2 million project it expects to complete by the end of this year.
Lakeville, Mass.-based Dennison manufactures and distributes about 8 million gallons of automotive and industrial lubricants annually from locations in Lakeville and Worchester Mass., and Gardiner, Maine. The Worchester location employs around 40 people and serves as its hub.
The expansion, which the company has been planning for the past three years, will increase facility size from 50,000 square feet to between 70,000 and 75,000 square feet, according to Tim Dennison, founder and president of the family-owned company. By the end of 2014, Dennison expects at least 20 new jobs to open up at the facility.
While the project will focus primarily on implementing a blending process for diesel exhaust fluid, it will also benefit the companys lubricants business, Dennison told Lube Report. Additions include an extra 3,600-square foot tank farm, improvements to rail and truck loading and unloading, enhanced capabilities in its lubricants quality control laboratory, truck scale enhancement and increased rack capacity.
