Fuchs Group acquired Sanford, North Carolina-based PolySi Technologies, which formulates and manufactures silicone lubricants and greases, as well as providing contract packaging services.
“PolySi expands our product and packaging offering into markets where silicone technology is utilized,” Keith Brewer, president and CEO of Fuchs Lubricants Co., USA, which is a subsidiary of Germany-based Fuchs Petrolub SE, said in a news release.
“Integrating with Fuchs will serve to further the reach of our products to the market through the Fuchs sales and distribution networks,” PolySi President Chuck Leuth said.
The company incorporated in 1995, started by a former Dow Corning employee. PolySi said it attracted new customers by custom formulating greases and lubricating materials that major manufacturers could not or would not offer.
PolySi employs 21 people and generated $9 million in sales for its 2019 fiscal year, mainly, in North America.
According to its website, the company’s divisions include PolySi Lubricants, which manufactures silicone and synthetic greases and silicone fluids. It provides lubrication solutions for the automotive, electrical, electronic, utility, plumbing, heavy equipment, medical, marine, energy and food equipment markets.
The company’s contract packaging division provides industrial packaging, retail packaging, contract filling and custom packaging for a variety of industries. The packaging options include tubs, packets, bottles, cans, jars, pails, syringes, cartridges and blister packaging.
PolySi’s contract manufacturing division provides blending and packaging services.
Fuchs has acquired several companies in North America in recent years, including Canadian lubricants and chemicals process management company Zimmark Inc. and Fairhaven, Massachusetts-based synthetic lubricant blender Nye Lubricants Inc. in 2019, and Dallas, Texas-based wireless sensor technology company Fluid Visions in 2018.
