Philadelphia-based Livent Corp. announced that Arcadium Lithium plc, the new holding company of the combined group that will result from the proposed merger of Argentina’s Allkem and Livent, received all pre-closing regulatory approvals in connection with the proposed merger. The transaction remains subject to approval by both companies’ shareholders, and Australian court approval, with closing targeted for Jan. 4, 2024. Livent’s lithium hydroxide is used as a thickener in lithium simple and complex greases.
