German company Fuchs Petrolub SE is the largest independent lubricant manufacturer.

Fuchs Group acquired compatriot company Boss Lubricants GmbH & Co. KG., a family-owned and operated company based in Albstadt, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany.

Boss develops and markets lubricants for medical technology applications, the food industry, metalworking, flame-retardant lubricants, silicone greases and a range of other products such as corrosion inhibitors and cleaners.

The company will continue to operate from this site and will remain under the leadership of the current owner and managing director, Rainer Gunsch-Boss.

Boss Lubricants employs 20 people and generates annual sales of about €7 million. Fuchs meanwhile has a workforce or more than 6,000 and generates sales of €3.5 billion.

“Not only are we gaining a team of highly qualified employees with specific know-how in niche areas, but we are also expanding our product portfolio of specialty lubrication solutions,” Fuchs SE CEO Stefan Fuchs said in a press release.
